The world's first AI trained on the Shastras, not just the internet. Unlocking Ancient vedic Intelligence for the modern seeker

There is lot of good content creators on TikTok apart from (dancing/singing) ones, the TechTok community is huge , It really depends on what interest the end users have, It's all individual attention driven algorithm that caters to the end user needs based on their likes/dislikes. It's faster to learn if you don't like something it does a good job in not recommending those type of content again. Which I believe Instagram/youtube isn't that great at.

It's hypertailored compared to YouTube and the likes. When people complain about the content they see, be it terrible DIY hacks or something more bizarre, I can't help but wonder what they've done that TikTok recommends such content to them. After dropping a few hints that it's very tailored a few have gotten a bit embarrassed and stopped complaining.

Interestingly it also separates a lot of the users from the rest, people call them [thing]-toks and crossovers aren't very welcome. Kinda like subreddits, but algorithmic.

This has been my experience--once and awhile a new topic will start showing up in my feed, say 1%'r motorcycle clubs or peanut-butter-whisky drinkers. All it takes is a couple "not interested" clicks and poof, back to people showing off vintage computers and HAM radio videos.

> To that end, sometimes you may come across a video in your feed that doesn't appear to be relevant to your expressed interests or have amassed a huge number of likes.

> By offering different videos from time to time, the system is also able to get a better sense of what's popular among a wider range of audiences to help provide other TikTok users a great experience, too. Our goal is to find balance between suggesting content that's relevant to you while also helping you find content and creators that encourage you to explore experiences you might not otherwise see.

The underlying narrative here that most people do not grasp is that each user's experience is different than ours, and their preferences are different too.

If someone else is complaining about their experience, we shouldn't be dismissive of it, it could easily be a real concern based on dark patterns the platform leverages.

For example, the platform can amplify triggering content to someone who exhibits schizophrenic traits, or it can show self harming or depressing content to someone who exhibits bipolar traits.

It's harmful to assume algorithms can't be implemented without flaws, agenda, and human bias... Actually it's willfully ignorant to think that anything inherently made by humans can be made without flaws and bias.

Anything that doesn't comply with major governments is automatically a "dark web" for cyber criminals.

E2EE and open source seem to be on a collision course with the world "order".

Or worlds order is stupid and outdated. Remove drug restrictions and you'll remove 80% of criminal

haha yes that first part was what I was implying

> Anything that doesn't comply with major governments is automatically a "dark web" for cyber criminals.

I came here to say that. I'm glad more people are not so ignorant anymore, and see what's going on. There is a clear agenda to demonize any service the government can't easily listen and record.

The way things are going with dystopian covid measures, I expect humanity to need systems that aren't controlled to put up resistence in the near future.

I will only buy if it comes with Pegasus pre-installed, that's Kosher for me.

I find good recommendations on reddit.

Pi-hole sub or something else?

Around 2003/04 was installing Avast/AVG on my friends desktops/PCs was a wonderful freeware. I started working as a system administrator around 2007 when I did the same on a few office machines, I had noticed how they became rogue, By infecting healthy machines with malware and prompting to buy paid version for removal, I am not sure if anyone remembers this thing with Avast ?

They did not infect machines; they just popped up that it found all kinds of things that were not there at all and you should upgrade to fix the issue. That is also a rancid tactic but I think Norton (or Mcafee?) also did it (it has been a long time but I remember either or both of them trying to panic users into buying like that). After upgrading, it would scan and nothing would be found; or at least not what it said before upgrading.

Never understood how they survived that. Now they seem to be dominating their country's tech landscape. Market ended up rewarding sociopathic behavior. Pretty terrible.

I remember something similar but it wasn't infecting them it was just giving false positives and constantly popping up to upgrade. I can't remember which software it was, it may have been avast.

ZoneAlarm popup ~2004: "IP x.x.x.x is trying to HAXOR you!!1"

I have never heard this. Can you provide a link with more details?

This was my personal and honest experience with Avast. They were the first scareware pioneers, If you have used them as I did you would have noticed.

I did use it then and I never experienced that. I bet it was some unrelated coincidence. They would not do that.

Narrator: They did.

What malware are you referring to? I never had this issue as well. I'm not saying you shouldn't question them, but the only thing I didn't like was they forced advertisements to use the free version. They were still orders of magnitude better than other AV providers, especially what they were selling at Best Buy.

Infecting machines with malware intentionally? They did this and are still allowed to sell product?

This is BS. They never did that.

The theory of Aryan and Dravidian is introduced by the British to create separation. The history is more than 4500 years.

In the last two decades we have genetic data that paints a much more complex picture. India is a fertile land and people have been streaming in (and out) for at least 50,000 years. If people move just 30km away every generation that is enough to populate the entire land in a thousand years.

Also the existence of an isolated Dravidian language in what is now Pakistan is puzzling https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahui_language

No question that it was a British colonist (lawyer) who stated the divergence, and no question the British routinely followed a longstanding practice of "divide and conquer".

Nevertheless I have never believed that this was a malign British effort. I know many people do believe this. But plenty of linguistic and genetic studies (by people not British and not Indian) have shown reasons to believe this theory.

I actually find these results (the ancient roots and long continuity of Dravidian languages) very cool. It appears to be a much tighter link than other old-lineage languages (e.g. Egyptian/Coptic and some Chinese languages).

Do you dispute that a proto-Aryan migration pushed proto-dravidians south in the Indian subcontinent? If so, what do you think explains the geographical distribution of Aryan vs Dravidian languages?

History is 13.5 billion years old, till now.

HAHA! I got myself into a wrong course and Udemy haven't refunded me till now. They say you can try it before you buy, But they don't give the money back once they have it. Nobody even answers your queries seemed very shady. Not surprised to see this now.

Wow that is scummy. Can't you do a chargeback?

This is not something new, It has been happening from a very long time, I am a Indian myself I know many people have formed such Consultancies in US and hire people from India filing for a position in their office, But eventually making you find job with whomever you choose and taking a part of your pay until you get Green card or some so called good ones just take your full net pay for 3 months in installments. And these type of firms also now create fake projects have desktops setup fake clients setup, hire so called "IT Professionals" from India stating he is a "Java |Ruby Specialist" creating fake documentation for the project, Fooling the immigration panel and eventually bypassing a system with wrong intentions.

On the flip side they also have gotten smarter now by hiring new grads from India who come to US to pursue "MS in tech" add some fake experience to them, train them for a month or two and leave them in the market for potential suitors, only the people who have passion to learn and thrive get to the top and are in the top currently in US markets.

Indian IT service provider companies are a different animal all together, they abuse the system by putting up multiple applications (Here you get some descent resources with no fake qualifications) but still it doesn't do justice to a startup that wants to hire one good resource from abroad because these sharks have already filled up the quota.

The Irony is that most of the slaves of Pakistan and India are shipped to Gulf to work on infrastructure projects with very harsh living conditions and less to no pay. I am baffled that there is no mention of countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar.
