I like to use 'Reddit on YouTube' on Firefox, which shows relevant reddit discussion in place of the YouTube comment section.


Implying that Reddit comments are any less of a cesspool. Reddit hosts a lot of quality discussion from small niche communities but the same is true for YT.

If anyone can figure out how to maintain quality discussion at the scale of thousands of speakers they'll be a billionaire overnight.


Comment voting has been the major solution thus far. Any scaled or NLP automated solution is just an arms race with bad actors.


And it's no solution.


I remember the days before Digg, Reddit, and Youtube voting. It's magnitudes better than that garbage.
