Since living in Berlin myself my personal favorite is the „Berliner Zimmer“ (Berlin Room) which is quite common for buildings of a certain period due to building codes of the time. Due to its location in the building - it‘s a room connecting the front of the building with the back for L-shaped apartments - it usually is quite large but has only one window in the corner which makes it a rather dark place.
Berlin needs to rethink waste management. We live in one of the described buildings and our bins are full 1 day after collection but only get collected every 2 weeks. We have to walk by them to get to our apartment. Needless to say it becomes very gross very quickly. Additionally the collectors do the bare minimum meaning that there is loads of trash including broken glass etc left over after every collection. As a parent of a toddler this is particularly nerve wracking.
