8vim: Android keyboard inspired by 8pen and Vim (github.com/flide)

I'm always open to trying new ways to enter text on mini on-screen keyboards. But, after watching the video, this looks fiendishly difficult. I can't imagine getting my head round learning those patterns well enough to become productive, in any reasonable length of time.

It looks almost like learning the [Pitman] shorthand, which my mum and millions of other women went to college and spent years absorbing, back in the pre word-processor days.

Personally I think the ultimate increases in productivity when typing on a phone style keyboard will come with improvements to the predictions of the AI behind swipe-to-type --not with having to learn a new [and non transferable] set of hieroglyphics.
