Hover menus are slow (often you need to wait for it to open), and if you accidently hover just before trying to click something, you will click on the surprise menu, not what I want to click.

I have been using them for several decades and I still accidentally hover wrong nearly every time.

I gave up on using a mouse on them a long time ago and just use arrow keys if it's more than one deep past the initial popup.
