My US healthcare provider had a new release for me to sign this year.
Among other things, they are allowed to make _and release_ ("non-identifiable") images of me. On the other hand, I am not allowed to make any photos or recordings of my treatment.
It's just painful to have to work with a system that makes the asymmetric power in the relationship so clear. Whatever happened to the "let everyone know they are being recorded and get a signed release"? Now you can't even get an immunization without consenting... good luck fighting that system.
Readers here might even worry about de-anonymization. At least it'll be good for a laugh when my friends figure out I'm the patient in the number 3 endoscope video on YouTube.
